This senior leadership position will direct Residential and Small Commercial operations in Vermont and western New York – overseeing our Engineering, Project Management, Procurement, Installation, and O&M Teams. This position will drive our growing company to maintain excellence, improve processes to drive efficiencies, and lead rapid growth. The position will be based in Rochester, NY to direct the rapid growth in our Residential Operations. In addition, this position will work closely to refine and improve the existing Operations in Waterbury.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Serving on the Residential and Small Commercial Leadership Team, the VP of Operations will:
- Assist in developing company-wide business strategy,
- Instill focus of continuous improvement across teams, demonstrate leadership by constantly examining processes and procedures to increase staff success and ease, profit margins and customer joy,
- Integrate Operations goals, workflows and outcomes with the other groups (Marketing & Sales, Finance & Administration) to collectively meet company objectives,
- Lead the Operations Group by
- creating operating plans, budgets, deliverables,
- executing to metrics,
- managing the Team Managers while guiding their supervision of their charges,
- integrating the goals, workflows and outcomes of the Group’s Teams to meet company objectives,
- Leverage industry trends and innovate to help continue SunCommon’s success as the renewable/energy market evolves.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
We are looking to add to our successful team an experienced, energetic, inspiring and superbly competent VP of Operations who brings these attributes:
- Degree in engineering, process management or operations,
- 10 years of increasing responsibilities in business Operations including engineering, project management, maintenance and supply chain,
- 5 years managing teams of Operations professionals,
- Demonstrated success in senior-level strategic business management,
- Significant experience implementing business process improvement programs,
- Mastery of business analytics to set goals, measure and manage – including CRM (we use Salesforce), Excel and project management software,
- Delight in growth-phase business (with all of its joys, adventures and challenges),
- Experience in renewable energy sector preferred but not required,
- Successfully operates in collaborative team atmosphere – giving and taking feedback to improve your personal performance as well of that of your team and the entire business,
